Artist, Charles Nkomo was born in Bulawayo in 1974. He is already seen as a very talented up and coming young artist in Zimbabwe where his work is much sought after.

Charles graduated from the Mzilikazi Art and Craft Centre where he majored in Fine Art. After graduation, he was commissioned by various hotels and public bodies to paint interior decorative murals. He has been exhibiting his paintings since 1996. He won the Zimbabwean ‘Artist Against Poverty Award’ in 1999.  His major achievement to date is to be resident artist for the Zimbabwe National Gallery, Bulawayo.

Much of Charles’ work reflects everyday life experiences in Africa; none more so than the paintings exhibited here that represent the daily lives of Zimbabwe’s rural women.

International collectors from South Africa, The Netherlands and the USA have bought his work and now African Mystique is pleased to bring his talent to the UK market.
